Freud Museum London

Recommended by Visit England Logo
Overview
In 1938, Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, left Vienna as a refugee from the Nazi occupation and chose exile in England, transferring his entire domestic and working environment to this house. He worked here until his death a year later. The centrepiece of the museum is Freud's study, preserved as it was in his lifetime. Here among the book-lined walls, you will find the original couch - on which his patients told him their dreams and memories - and his extraordinary collection of Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Oriental antiquities.
