Overview
A working silk mill until 1981, with restored jacquard hand looms in their original location. Knowledgeable guides, many of them former silk mill workers, illustrate the silk production process with the help of demonstrations from weavers. Exhibitions and room settings give an impression of working conditions at the mill during the 1930s. The Silk Museum is located in the former art school. Follow the journey of silk making from cocoon to loom, with fascinating displays and lots of exciting hands-on exhibits.
