Attadale Gardens
Overview
Attadale Gardens were started by Baron Schoder in the late 19th century, and totally transformed after the 1980s storms by owner Nicky Macpherson. Paths meander through 20 acres of conifers and rhododendrons, in what is now a painter's garden, designed to frame the magnificent views of Skye and the surrounding hills. Waterfalls, Monet bridges, meconopsis (blue poppies), sculptures and a fern collection are just part of the beauty of the gardens.

About the area
Apart from the Orkneys and the Shetlands, Highland is Scotland’s northernmost county. Probably its most famous feature is the mysterious and evocative Loch Ness, allegedly home to an ancient monster that has embedded itself in the world’s modern mythology, and the region’s tourist industry.
