Overview
The museum tells the story of Melton Mowbray and the borough through a variety of objects from the Leicestershire County Council collections about making a living, countryside life, fox hunting, archaeology, pork pies, Stilton cheese and ‘Painting the Town Red’. Opened in 1977, Melton Carnegie Museum is housed in the former Andrew Carnegie Free Library built in 1905. Available for visitors are a gift shop, accessible and changing places toilets and free Wi-Fi.
