Wander down the pier-like boardwalk and across a rope bridge into The Woodsmans Treehouse, a treetop chalet where sustainable craftsmanship meets cosy, luxurious interiors. At its heart lies a central, circular room with a rotating wood burner, around which there’s a king-sized bed, fully equipped kitchen and roll-top bath. There’s also an entrance hall for coats and muddy boots, plus an en suite, flushing loo. Outside on the upper deck sits your own sauna and hot tub, while on the lower deck you’ll find an open air tree shower, hammock, wood-fired pizza oven, barbecue, slide down to the woodland floor, plus views through the woods towards the sunset. Opened in 2016, the design was a collaboration between Guy Mallinson and Keith Brownlie of BEaM, constructed by Guy and his team of highly skilled wood craftsmen.
