Overview
Ben Uri Museum and Gallery was established in 1915 in London's East End, and is Britain's oldest Jewish cultural organisation. Set up originally to provide support for Jewish artists and craftspeople who were flourishing there in the face of poverty, anti-Semitism and isolation from mainstream culture, the museum now celebrates the contribution of all immigrant communities. Located in a temporary exhibition space, Ben Uri presents a varied exhibition programme, incorporating works from its extensive collection.
