Overview
Sarehole Mill was built in the 1760s. Used for both flour production and metal-rolling up to the last century, the Mill can still be seen in action every Wednesday and Sunday from Easter to the end of October. Restored with financial backing from JRR Tolkien, who grew up in the area, and cited Sarehole as an influence on the writing of his books, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
