"Birds and dinosaurs in the Cotswolds countryside."
Overview
Birdland is exactly what it sounds like; an amazing world of birds and their Jurassic ancestors set in the Cotswolds. Nine acres of gardens and woodland, forming a canopy over the River Windrush. Here are more than 500 birds including owls, cassowary and rare species like the Waldrapp Ibis. Flamingos, pelicans, cranes and waterfowl live in riverside habitats while many more inhabit over 50 aviaries. There are also plenty of penguins, and an African section with exotic birds like hornbills and village weavers. You can also encounter the creatures than many scientists believe to be the ancestors of birds in the Jurassic Journey area. As if that wasn't enough there is also a cafe and a double zip-line for adventurous types.

About the area
Gloucestershire is home to a variety of landscapes, including the Cotswolds, a region of gentle hills, valleys and gem-like villages that roll through the county. To their west is the Severn Plain, watered by Britain’s longest river and characterised by orchards and farms marked out by hedgerows that blaze with mayflower in the spring; beyond the Severn are the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.
