Flag Fen Archaeology Park
Overview
Flag Fen Archaeology Park is home to a wooden causeway some 3,500 years old. Many experts feel it is as important in its way as Stonehenge. The causeway was discovered in 1982, and today visitors can see an excavated section of it. Previous digs here have unearthed amazing finds, including England's oldest wheel and a rare gold ring. There is also a reconstructed Bronze Age settlement and an Iron Age roundhouse. In 2012, eight prehistoric log boats were discovered near Whittlesey and brought to Flag Fen to undergo conservation.
