Mountain Xperience
Overview
Head for the highest mountain in Wales, and enjoy a MountainXperience you’ll never forget. Among other energetic activities, you can hike to the summit of Snowdon, or 'scramble' over Crib Goch; scrambling is an activity somewhere between hiking and mountaineering. Or maybe you could rise to the challenge of the Snowdon Horseshoe, not for those who suffer a fear of heights. Wild camping and courses in map reading and other outdoor skills are also available.
About the area
The county of Gwynedd is home to most of the Snowdonia National Park – including the wettest spot in Britain, an arête running up to Snowdon’s summit that receives an average annual rainfall of 4,473mm. With its mighty peaks, rivers and strong Welsh heritage (it has the highest proportion of Welsh-speakers in all of Wales), it’s always been an extremely popular place to visit and live.
